The nursery is DONE! Finally. I never thought I would get to say those words. With each pregnancy, the nursery has been completed later and later. For Copeland, I am pretty sure I had everything done about six weeks before he was born. Then for Atlee, I had a couple weeks to spare. This time around, baby girl could come at any time and I got all of the final things done a few days ago.
I will preface this by saying that I am no interior decorator and I don’t pretend to be Joanna Gaines. I will have a picture of what I want to do in my head and then do my best on our budget to make that vision a reality. It’s not always perfect, but neither am I. So, with that said, I really enjoyed pulling things together for our daughter’s room. After decorating two very boy nurseries (lots of blue and masculine features) I was really excited to get to decorate something with a girly flair.
I have everything listed and linked at the bottom for those who are interested.
I have never done a theme for any of my babies’ nurseries, but more of a color palette instead. For baby girl, I knew I wanted feminine and pink with touches of metallics. Before I even picked an exact paint color, I commissioned Hannah to paint a piece to go above the crib. The painting is one of my favorite things in the room; in my whole house, really. Knowing that it’s one of a kind and painted by someone who loves me and this baby so much means the world to me; I definitely teared up when I saw it for the first time.
For the record, that crib sheet is one of the softest things that I have ever felt.
After I got the painting home, I started gathering items for the room and choosing a paint color. In the end, I decided on Ballerina Pink by Benjamin Moore. It’s just the shade of pink I wanted and it enhances the colors from the painting perfectly. To save some money, I reused the crib, dresser, and rocker that I had used for both boys. I did change out the knobs on the dresser to make it look a little more feminine. As for the rest of the decor, it’s a mixture of finds from all over as well as a few pieces that were gifted to me or that were mine as baby. Overall, I am extremely happy with the way the nursery turned out. I sit in the glider every night, listening to worship music and I pray for our girl, for her brothers, and imagine what life is going to be like when she is here in her space, with her people (literally any day now).
My baby shoes and the Bible that was presented to me at my baby dedication.
The blanket on the chair was also mine as a baby.
I had to add a touch of Christmas to her room even though she won’t care or remember.
Obsessed with this print from House of Belonging that Hannah gifted baby girl. Praying she knows this truth all the days of her life.
Big brother-to-be had to make an appearance.
