Happy Friday and Happy Cinco de Mayo! Who else is excited for bottomless guacamole and queso? If you’re up for a history lesson, here is the reason that Cinco de Mayo is celebrated. Per usual, we are linking up with ErikaAndrea and Narci  to bring you our Friday Favorites.

Yes, I’m late to the Moana craze, but in my defense I was thinking “this is being pegged as a princess movie and I don’t know if my boys will like it.” Well, I was wrong. It isn’t too girly or princess-y at all! It is such a cute movie and honestly it has some pretty good humor in it too! We have had the same four movies on a loop lately (did you know that toddlers don’t get sick of watching the same thing over and over? Ha!), so I was desperate on a rainy day this week and bought Moana on iTunes and haven’t regretted it one minute. So, if you’ve been living under a rock like I was and haven’t seen it, get to it!

Cool Weather

So that rainy, stormy day we had this week brought us a nice little cool front and I couldn’t have been more excited about it! We are about to begin what always seems like the never ending, abysmal summer here in Louisiana, so I’m not mad in the slightest about this last little cool snap we are going to see until about, umm November!

Circle Floating Pendant Necklace

Have you discovered Landyn on Instagram and in blogland? If not, you need to get on that. Hannah and I refer to her like she’s our real life BFF. She’s a lifestyle blogger over at Living With Landyn, she’s got great style, great recipes, and her instastories are a favorite. She recently started a jewelry line and this necklace was an early Mother’s Day gift/late anniversary gift from Justin and the boys. I mentioned back in February when she did a pre-order that I wanted one (and sent him the link like twenty times ;)) and it came in this week. I love it so much and it was worth the wait! Check her out even if you’re not looking for new jewelry, I’m sure she’ll be a favorite of yours too!

If you follow us on Instagram, you may have seen in our instastories that I went to my first ever Jazzercise class on Monday. I haven’t done any type of Jazzercise since an instructor used to come into our elementary school PE Class and teach us dances to “Walk Like and Egyptian” and “2 Legit 2 Quit”. And for some reason I always picture leotards and headbands when I think of Jazzercise, but that is sadly not accurate haha. It was so much fun! Good music, friendly classmates, a great cardio workout, followed up with some challenging strength training. I really loved it. And I burned over 600 calories in the process so that’s a win for sure. All Jazzercise classes are free for the month of May, so I definitely recommend finding a center near you and trying it out! I went to Rachel’s class in Prairieville, and she was such a fun instructor! And she sweetly sent me a little postcard in the mail a couple of days later complimenting my beautiful dance moves, so she’s now one of my favorite people ; )

Covered Goods

Covered goods

I first heard of the Covered Goods nursing cover from Courtney, and I knew I had to have one! She very graciously bought one for me right before Gibson was born, and I love it so much! It’s so much easier to use than the big cape-like cover I had with Evan, and it’s a lot cuter. I like that it covers you all the way around, too, including your back. And it’s multifunctional! You can use it as a carseat cover and as a shopping cart cover when your baby is old enough to sit in the seat. I have also used it as a magical baby calmer in the last couple of weeks. We were out of town a few weekends ago, and Gibson started crying in his carseat when we were still about an hour from our house. I put the cover on his lap in his carseat and he immediately stopped crying. I don’t know if it was the “mom smell” that soothed him, or if it was just something distracting for him to play with, but it was awesome (don’t worry…Evan was sitting next to him so I could be sure he didn’t get it on his face).

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) is the answer to most every problem and symptom imaginable it seems like. It can help detox your body, alleviate heartburn, boost metabolism, aid in weight loss, improve digestion. You can also use it on your skin (diluted) as a toner or to treat bites and burns. I always have some on hand! I add about one tablespoon to my 30 ounce stainless water cup to drink during the day. It tastes kind of like I’m drinking tea or lemonade (I generally only drink water so anything other than water feels like a treat). I get the Bragg Organic Raw Apple Cider Vinegar. There are other options in your stores, but make sure it’s raw and unfiltered and has “the mother” so you’re getting all the good benefits in it! You can click here to check out a good list of uses for ACV.

That’s it for this Friday, girls! Let us know what you’re loving this week in the comments! We hope y’all enjoy your weekend. Fingers crossed for more beautiful weather and lots of fun.

xoxo – Courtney & Hannah

My kids are obsessed with Moana and the soundtrack, but I’ll admit it’s a pretty cute movie! Love how delicate the necklace looks, it’s adorable. I also have a large bottle of Braggs, but haven’t been able to drink it alone yet! Happy weekend!

The ACV definitely needs to be diluted. You could add a little honey to it too to help the taste if you don’t like it. I definitely feel a difference when I’m drinking it regularly!! Happy weekend to you too!!

My 3 year old son loves Moana! It has been his movie of choice lately, and yes he watches the same movie over and over too 🙂 It’s funny that you mentioned ACV, I bought some a couple weeks ago and still have yet to try it. I got scared that the taste would be too much even in water. I’m going to put my worries aside and give it a try today! Thanks for the push! 🙂

Good luck with the ACV! I dilute mine in a 30 ounce cup of water and I think it’s yummy! Let us know if you try it 🙂
